For many years male grooming consisted of shaving, a quick wash and shampoo followed by a spray of deodorant and maybe a slap of aftershave or cologne. Our grandfathers would have probably laughed at the idea of using moisturisers, serums, and eye creams – if they even knew what these products were. The past two decades, have, however seen the male grooming space explode. Men of all ages – from teenagers to pensioners – have realised the benefit of looking after their appearance.
Begin with some Basics
In today’s world, taking care of your skin is essential for both men and women. However, men often overlook the importance of a proper grooming routine. Neglecting skin care can lead to various issues such as dryness, irritation, premature ageing, and a lacklustre appearance. Beginning with some basics is probably the best place to start if you or the man in your life is just getting into the whole male grooming routine.
- The first thing to start with is a good face wash.
Unless you are battling with problem skin, a well-balanced face wash that removes dirt, sweat and excess oil will do the job. Most guys prefer a foaming face wash rather than a cream or lotion based one.

Whilst applying a mask may be one step too far for some men, there are several products which may be perfect.
